Sugarcane Bagasse as Aggregate in Composites for Building Blocks

نویسندگان

چکیده

Each year, hundreds of millions tons processed sugarcane generate, by weight, 25 to 30% bagasse as waste, whose destination is combustion for energy cogeneration. This research proposes an alternative and more sustainable use this waste. The (SCB) the single aggregate in composites building blocks was studied. raw used without any treatment. As binder, aerial lime and/or soil were used. Both provided enough mechanical strength non-load-bearing walls. composite SCB with achieved best performance terms resistance: 2.6 MPa compressive 2.1 bending strength, while 1.76 1.7 MPa, respectively. higher number fibers SCB/lime mixture provides better thermal insulation than clay brick or conventional concrete, such “hempcrete”. obtained greater water resistance less loss when saturated. However, absorption coefficient makes it necessary apply a waterproof mortar on surfaces exposed weather. replacement supplied can offer economical solution that improves quality built environment ecofriendly.

Glycerol carbonate as green solvent for pretreatment of sugarcane bagasse

BACKGROUND Pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass is a prerequisite for effective saccharification to produce fermentable sugars. In this study, "green" solvent systems based on acidified mixtures of glycerol carbonate (GC) and glycerol were used to treat sugarcane bagasse and the roles of each solvent in deconstructing biomass were determined. RESULTS Pretreatment of sugarcane bagasse at 90...

Bagasse Fiber Composites-A Review

A composite material is made by combining two or more materials to give a unique combination of properties, one of which is made up of stiff, long fibres and the other, a binder or 'matrix' which holds the fibres in place. The fibres are strong and stiff relative to the matrix and are generally orthotropic. More recently natural fibers have been employed in combination with plastics. The abunda...

Prospects of Cellulosic Ethanol from Sugarcane Bagasse

AGRICULTURAL residues such as grain straws and corn stover are abundant, readily available biomass feedstocks for the production of next generation biofuels, with collection and transport costs being a major component of their cost. Sugarcane bagasse is thus an especially attractive biomass feedstock in that it is an agricultural residue already present in large quantities at sugar and ethanol ...

Fast Pyrolysis Characteristics of Sugarcane Bagasse Hemicellulose

The pyrolysis characteristics of sugarcane bagasse hemicellulose were investigated using a tubular furnace. The total gas yield and the releasing behavior of the main gas products were measured by GC analysis. The liquid products were analyzed by GC-MS and ion chromatography. The chars were investigated by elemental analysis and proximate analysis. The volatile remaining in the char extracted b...

Synthesis of Functionalized Aryl-vinyl Ethers as Building Blocks and Auxiliaries in Organic Synthesis

5- hydroxyisoquinoline undergoes a smooth reaction with alkyl propiolates in the presence of triphenylphosphine (15 mol%) to produce the corresponding (E)-alkyl 3-(isoquinolin-5-yloxy) acrylate in good yields. When the reaction was performed by 2-methyl 4-hydroxyquinoline and 3-nitro 4-hydroxypyridine, similar aryl vinyl ethers were obtained.
